Santana - 6-7-2014: Pinnacle Arena, Lincoln NE

In what was advertised as the Voice , The Guitar  & The Songs, I wasnt quite sure who would be opening for who at the Pinnacle Arena in Lincoln NE . Besides attracting the same Demographic, Rod Stewart  and Carlos Santana seemed to have little in common. The two things that come to mind for me are Woodstock & "Hot Legs " . Quite the contrast.

Santana's almost 90 minute opening set started with music from his latest " Corazon " album. The set also included hits " Oye Come Va "  " Black Magic Woman "and his hugh hit with Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty, " Smooth " with the vocal being handled by Andy Bargas & Tony Lindsay. Santana's band also included Lenny Kravitz drummer Cindy  Blackman who also happens to be his wife. When you combined the energy of Carlos and his band with the multimedia display of vintage video, stills and album cover art, It sure made for a fine night in Lincoln for the 8000 in attendance.
