Bobby Weir and Mickey Hart are high steppin’ into town for a very special double bill alongside their respective troupes, Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros and Hart‘s Planet Drum, at Stanford University’s Frost Amphitheater this Sunday, May 1. In what is sure to be a vibrational and quintessential homecoming show — the band’s rare return to the legendary venue is not to be missed!

History runs deep between the Grateful Dead and the Bay Area’s Frost Amphitheater as the Dead played the storied venue 14 times in the 80s. This weekend the 2 come together again for the first time in 15 years with the reunion of Grammy Award-winning global percussion ensemble, Planet Drum, in anticipation of their new record, In The Groove.

Rhythm and percussion form the universal pass key to the world’s music, the underlying connection that Planet Drum — Mickey Hart, Zakir Hussain, Sikiru Adepoju, and Giovanni Hidalgo — is all about. Hart and tabla master Hussain formed the one-of-a-kind supergroup more than 30 years ago, bringing together groundbreaking rhythm masters from around the globe and collectively changing the perception of percussive world music forever. Planet Drum shares the groove with fans this weekend for a rare appearance together that you do not want to miss. Watch an inside look at the creation and inspiration behind the ensemble's first new music in over a decade here.

In celebration of this incredible assembly, we’re giving fans around the globe a spyglass into the historic co-headling show with Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros featuring The Wolfpack and brothers in rhythm, Planet Drum. Get ready for a real good time and join us for an unforgettable evening of music live from Frost Amphitheater this weekend, exclusively on FANS!
