The beginning of December brought curious and knowing fans to The Bottom Lounge in Chicago for a stellar show which would convince those questioning the talent of this band and redefine the loyalty of their previous followers. As the fellas populating this duo stepped out the anticipation from the crowd was uplifted.

Waltzing onto the stage these fellas sent a pulse of energy into the crowd. As the music began the crowd began to vibrate into dance. Bringing it to Chicago, from their start in Alabama, they brought a sense of that southern down-home feel to the environment. Sensational beats absorbing into the audience. The venue was open with dance room to wiggle around, a club feel with neon lights and mirrors reflecting the evening. The Bottom Lounge brought a lot of focus to these musicians. This band puts two highly appreciated forms together reaching out to a variety of audiences, live shows pleasing because of this. As the show continued the sensation that these gentleman in the band are unlike any other, a gripping presence right from the get go. Engage the crowd not only with their music but with the personality that is highlighted in their performing. The men in the band come from a very deep musical background and the knowledge behind their musical talent is elaborated on throughout the evening. Russ Randolph and Zion Rock Godchaux performed with might, in sync with one another, with sensational abilities in improvisational playing. These guys really rocked the crowd with compassionate playing which both grew up captivated in. Randolph shows his skills using sequencers and turntables, though his musical comprehension expands into other areas as well. Godchaux, son of Keith and Donna Jean Godchaux former members of The Grateful Dead, was raised in San Francisco, experimenting with music from childhood, he brings forth his understanding in this band strumming the guitar. The drastic style used combing solo guitar instrumentals to modern music making sets this band apart from others who combine similar mechanisms. A novel display from these gentleman, hooking the Chicago audience till the music stopped, causing the crowd to holler for more.

As the evening wined down, the crowd did not. It seemed as though the band continued strictly to keep everyone's feet moving. The band played fabulously off hand and the whole show was captivating till the lights came on and those attending drifted back into the city.
