SnowBall Music Festival Makes First Lineup Announcement - March 8-10 in Winter Park, CO

In its first two years, the Colorado-based SnowBall Music Festival established a reputation as one of America's most unique and exciting events. A music festival and ski/snowboard weekend rolled into one, SnowBall is the ultimate winter getaway for music fans, tastemakers and adventure-seekers, who'll converge on the majestic mountain paradise of Winter Park, Colorado on March 8-10, 2013 to absorb SnowBall's visionary marriage of music and mountains.

With two sold-out years under its belt, this year SnowBall boasts its most eclectic and impressive musical lineup yet, with eagerly anticipated performances by the likes of Pretty Lights, Big Gigantic, Kendrick Lamar, Portugal. The Man, and many others. The complete list of artists announced today is listed below, with many more performers to be revealed in the coming weeks.

For three days, SnowBall's new location of Winter Park, Colorado will come alive with approximately 65 acts performing on four stages, encompassing a diverse assortment of cutting-edge artists spanning the full range of contemporary music, from electronic and dance to indie and alternative. The combination of the world's most creative musicians and the world's greatest snow conditions makes SnowBall the ultimate winter adventure for the music enthusiast and winter sports fan alike.

As Chad Donnelly, the festival's founder, explains, "From the beginning, SnowBall has always sought to offer a unique experience, and to create something that hasn't been done before. It's incredible how many people who attend SnowBall ski and snowboard each day of the festival, and somehow still have the energy to experience the music festival from beginning to end, followed by the late-night shows until two in the morning. Our fans' energy and attitude is ultimately what shapes the event, which is why I know they are going to love Winter Park and the vibe that the town caters to."

In addition to three great days of music, those attending the festival will have an opportunity to hit the slopes at Winter Park Resort - dubbed "Colorado's Favorite”™ for the natural majesty of its setting, its laid-back resort atmosphere and its stellar skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. Winter Park Resort, which includes Mary Jane Mountain, averages over 321 inches of snow each year and features over 3000-acres of skiable terrain to enjoy. SnowBall 2013 attendees will also have access to a special discounted ski lift ticket, courtesy of Winter Park Resort, packaged with their event ticket and lodging.

The move to Winter Park isn't the only exciting new change in store for this year's SnowBall. "Being on private land and having a partner like Winter Park makes all the difference in the world," Donnelly states, adding, "This new location really enables us the opportunity to take all aspects of the festival to the next level.”

SnowBall 2013 promises innovative integration of creative design throughout the festival experience - from custom three dimensional film installations, fireworks displays, action sports elements and everything in between. Also this year, SnowBall introduces a heated acoustic coffee house lounge to feature intimate and unplugged performances by rising stars and main stage artists alike. After the festival, crowds spill out into the streets for the event’s ever-expanding late night scene, offering big after-hours shows in the town’s many small clubs.

"We see SnowBall as a boutique festival," Donnelly concludes. "We're passionate about keeping it diverse, and we aim to attract a wide range of fans who share similar ideas and values. Nothing brings people together like music, and we plan to continue fostering that environment in a very positive way. We work tirelessly to curate a festival that will always have a really special place in the hearts of our fans, and I have no doubt that they are going to be more excited than ever with this year's lineup and experience."

Discounted Snow Day and Early Bird tickets, which were made available to past attendees beginning the weekend of December 15, have already sold out. SnowBall is now offering a Holiday Special ticket price as well as VIP Advance tickets. Both levels will be available until January 1, after which General Admission tickets will be available.
