PHILADELPHIA, PA – Following a season that kicked off with a successful return to the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre and included a series of high profile festival dates, The Disco Biscuits have announced 15 new shows that will see performances at some fan favorite venues, as well as at larger stages new to the band.
Tickets for most of The Disco Biscuits’ late summer performances are now available through BiscoTix, (http://biscotix.musictoday.com). Remaining tickets will be available to the general public via Ticketmaster or through venue ticketing starting on July 2.
One month after the highly anticipated Camp Bisco (www.campbisco.net), the Biscuits will hit the road for a 15 performance late summer tour that will take the band through much of the United States. Late summer tour support will feature Oakland’s MiM0SA (http://www.myspace.com/tigranmimosa) at most scheduled dates, in addition to other supporting acts including Papadosio and others to be announced.
The band begins close to home, on August 25, at Dewey Beach, Delaware’s Bottle & Cork. After two scorching back-to-back seaside performances in South Carolina this summer, fans of the band know this intimate beach party is not to be missed.
The Biscuits then head south to Raleigh, NC for their first of several southern performances at the Lincoln Theatre on Thursday, August 26. From there, the band will perform at Florida’s Blackwater Music Festival en route to a weekend in Atlanta with friends STS9. The Biscuits will co-headline Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on Saturday, August 28 with STS9 before performing at The Tabernacle on Sunday, August 29, while STS9 will kick off the weekend Friday at the Tabernacle. Tickets for the Atlanta weekend with STS9 are currently available in 3-day passes, 2-day passes, and Saturday only tickets via BiscoTix.
On Wednesday, September 1, The Disco Biscuits head to Lexington, KY to begin a five-date whirlwind that will take them through the Midwest, to Texas, and back again. Papadosio will join the Biscuits and MiM0SA in Lexington, as well as in Cleveland at the House of Blues on Thursday, September 2.
Friday, September 3 will see The Biscuits at Chicago’s Congress Theater with very special guests TBA. The band then spends 24 hours in Texas at the Nocturnal Festival just outside of Austin before turning back for the Windy City for a Sunday performance at the North Coast Music Festival on September 5.
The Biscuits return to the northeast in early September for five dates, beginning with State College, PA’s State Theatre for what’s sure to be another Happy Valley throwdown on Tuesday, September 7. The band then shuffles off to Buffalo for two nights at the town ballroom, Wednesday and Thursday, September 8-9 before heading to Massachusetts to wrap up the tour in two exciting, new venues for the band. The Biscuits’ return to western Mass on Friday, September 10 will mark the band’s first time performing at Mountain Park, while Saturday, September 11 closes out the tour in style at downtown Boston’s Bank of America Pavilion. Both Massachusetts dates will feature very special guests TBA.
This July, fans will also be able to check out the band at their annual 3-day music and arts festival, Camp Bisco, July 15-17, 2010. The ninth installment of one of the country’s longest running electronic/rock music festivals will be held at Indian Lookout Country Club, 20 minutes outside of Albany, for the fourth consecutive year and will feature three full nights of The Disco Biscuits along with LCD Soundsystem, Ween, Thievery Corporation and many more of the best acts in the world. The Disco Biscuits The Disco Biscuits are an entirely different band today than they were when they first broke out of Philadelphia in the mid-90s. That’s not to say that they’ve abandoned their foundation, switched gears or set sail for distant shores. The Disco Biscuits are still very much the pioneers of “trance-fusion,” bridging the gap between electronic music and jam bands. They still remain rock pioneers whose soul belongs as much to marathon dance parties as it does to live improvisational journeys. They still employ emerging technologies to help them create music that is 100 percent human although, perhaps, not entirely of this earth. But after spending the past three years in the studio — during breaks in touring — they’ve resurfaced with ‘Planet Anthem,’ a CD that is undeniably unlike anything else they’ve ever created before.
