MASSENA, NY--Nammy Award Winner for Best Folk Album and owner of Standing Rock Boxng Club, Atsiaktonkie (ah-jeeak-doon-gee-ay), will host The Brawl in the Mall on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. in the St. Lawrence Centre Mall Arena. The fight card features the best amateur boxers from New York State and Canada, including New York State Champion Chad Campeau, Quebec Light Weight Champion Tony Luis, 12-year-old protégé Rorohronhakies, and fierce female contender Jean Gibson.

Hailing from Raymondville, NY, Chad Campeau, 25, 178 pounds, won the New York State Championship in March 2008 and then again in February 2010. A four-year vetern to the sport, Campeau trains at least three times a week at Champs Eastside Boxing Club in Cornwall. ON, or at Standing Rock Boxing Club in Massena, NY. The main event will feature Campeau as he squares off against Golden Gloves Champion Derrick Evans from Utica, NY. "I love the sweet silence of boxing.,” said Campeau. “Whenever I am in the ring, I tune everything else out and just bring it.”

Quebec Light Weight Champion Tony Luis, 23, 135 pounds, holds an undefeated 9-0 record with over 100 amateur fights under his belt. His father, Jorge Luis, owns Champs Eastside Boxing in Cornwall, ON, and inspired him to begin training at an early age. His special guest appearance at The Brawl in the Mall is sure to be just as notable as his recent victory over Adrian Valdez, which was televised on ESPN 2.

Rorohronhakies (a.k.a. Lolo) has only been boxing since May 2009 when his father, Atsiaktonkie, opened Standing Rock Boxing Club. But don’t let age or lack of experience fool you, this 113 pounds boxer won his second fight at the New York State Fair at age 11 when he knocked out his 15-year-old opponent. Lolo, who currently attends the Akwesasne Freedom School, said “I like the physical part of boxing, and would love to go pro someday.”

Massena High School student, Jean Gibson, 17, 178 pounds, has always wanted to box since she was a little girl. Even though Gibson has only been training at Standing Rock Boxing Club for a few short months, she is still very excited to get into the ring for her first fight ever. “The people at Standing Rock Boxing are like my family,’ Gibson said. “Everyone there has been very supportive and taught me so much”
