The Omega Moos came back to Chicago, bringing the 1980’s with them. This eighties dance party was unlike any you’ve ever heard of. Starting with an IPad DJ set, performed by Darren Shearer in appropriate 1980’s nerd-gear, loosened the crowd up while waiting for Moos. With classic remixes of pop songs from over thirty years ago, the audience was prepared for a gitty night filled with their favorite tunes.
As Darren resided to behind the drums, Jamie Shields, Ryan Stasik and Brendan Bayliss came out in stunning eighties wardrobe. Brendan and Ryan had matching goldenrod sport-suits, enough to give you “double-vision”, which screamed post-B Boy superstar. Jamie and Darren accordingly rocked gaudy vests (like they were still in fashion) to give a nostalgic stage presence. Their attire set the mood for the night ahead, filled with spritely, electronic covers that kept the crowd grooving. Overall, Moos kept a steady pace for their glamorous audience to shuffle their feet to, into the early morning.
Paying tribute to the eighties, the Omega Moos played tunes from such artists as David Bowie, Devo, Men at Work, A-Ha and even Madonna’s, “Material Girl”. Since many of their fans came in eighties movie wardrobe, it was only fit to play the Beverly Hills Cops theme – as well as a cover of “Don’t You Forget About Me” that would give Molly Ringwald the chills. Their set was action-packed to the point that nobody wanted the night to end. Sadly, the eighties didn’t last forever, however, the spirit of Omega Moos still lives and will keep their fans coming back for “more, more, more!
